SLB OneSubsea — Subsea Production System

SLB (formerly Schlumberger), through its OneSubsea joint venture, was awarded the contract for a 13-well Subsea Production System (SPS). The scope includes standardized vertical monobore subsea trees, wellheads, controls systems, and associated equipment for the two-phase development of the Cameia (Phase 1) and Golfinho (Phase 2) fields. SLB OneSubsea CEO Mads Hjelmeland described it as an opportunity to "unlock the large potential of the Kaminho project."

Siemens Energy — Power Generation

Siemens Energy was awarded the contract (September 2024) to design, engineer, and supply an 80 MW high-performance power generation system for the FPSO Kaminho. The system ensures reliable power for all onboard operations in the all-electric, zero-flaring design — a critical system given the absence of conventional gas turbine backup.

China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI)

CMHI at its Nantong, China facility is performing the physical conversion of the VLCC Alsace into the FPSO Kaminho, subcontracted by Saipem. CMHI secured a dry dock slot and commenced engineering in mid-2024. The yard has extensive experience in FPSO conversions for the global market.

Valaris — Drilling

Valaris drillship DS-12 has been deployed on Block 20/11 for exploration drilling, including the Grenadier-1 well in the Kwanza Basin pre-salt. Development drilling for the 13-well program will utilize deepwater drilling rigs capable of operating in 1,700+ meter water depths.

Additional Service Companies

The project ecosystem extends to: Samsung Heavy Industries (original VLCC Alsace builder), Petromar (Ambriz fabrication yard partner), and numerous Angolan service companies providing logistics, marine support, and fabrication services under local content requirements.
